It varies from person to person but i first had it for 3 weeks (4 years ago) and have not had another outbreak till just recently when it was as bad as the first time, i had it again for 3 weeks.

I would say the first primary outbreak would last about 2-3 weeks.

And any outbreaks after that about a week to 2 weeks

I am not sure on how many u can get per year. I have been getting them once a month. Mabye some other people get outbreaks more often, mabye 2 times per month or more, so it really depends on how good your immune system is.

Out breaks normally last for about 1-4 weeks, depending on severity of the outbreak. The worst case scenario is that you could have sores breaking out after the previous ones have healed up (in other words back to back outbreaks).
You could have one outbreak and never have another, or you could have intermittent outbreaks throughout your life.

If you take care of yourself then you can reduce the number of outbreaks you have in a year. Herpes outbreaks are actually supposed to decrease in amounts per year and severity over time. There is really no way to predict how many outbreaks you will get since everyone who has herpes is different. When it comes to outbreaks, even symptoms are different from person to person.

Keep track of what triggers yours and stay away from them, you could go months or years with out having another outbreak.

I only get maybe 1-2 out breaks a month and I've had herpes for almost 2 years, the outbreaks I get are hardly noticeable and they feel like a bad rash.

a single outbreak will last me two weeks, before i will tell for sure its completly gone, and you can have numerous outbreaks, over a course of a year, it depends on you, your stress, other conditions, like a lot of sex, tight clothes, your mood in general, all will produce outbreaks.I have had it for 25 years, and have gotten used to it.study up on it, and learn all you can, it is manageable, but it sucks. good luck.
